German utilities want 15 bn euros for nuclear shutdown

What a surprise!

German power suppliers are suing the government for 15 billion euros ($19 billion) in damages over the decision to abandon nuclear power, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported Wednesday.

    The banning of nuclear power is only temporary. When the German people discover the consequences of banning nuclear power, they will change their minds.

    For climate’s sake I sure hope you are right. Have you seen any objective projections of how much utility bills will increase if all nukes are shuttered?

      I haven’t seen projections, but I would expect the increase to be sufficient to cause consumers to object strongly.
