New York Times chief military correspondent Michael Gordon’s new book was released March 14. I anticipate that the new book will reflect an objective, balanced style as did his reports from Iraq in 2003. Thus far Gordon and co-author Bernard E. Trainor have penned four articles based on the book for the New York Times.
Gordon’s NYT index page lists the four articles, and will link to any further articles published. Here are the first four articles:
After Invasion, Point Man for Iraq Was Shunted Aside
Dash to Baghdad Left Top U.S. Generals Divided
Even as U.S. Invaded, Hussein Saw Iraqi Unrest as Top Threat
Iraqi Leader, in Frantic Flight, Eluded U.S. Strikes
From reading these four articles it appears that Gordon has had high level access. In addition, the Guardian has published the text of the May 11 John Sawer memo to Tony Blair which Gordon obtained during his research.
