Hal Varian, Google’s Chief Economist, argues that Google + Internet will cut the competitive advantages that big businesses have over small. I think he is basically correct for the segments that aren’t so dependent on bricks and mortar. In the near term I don’t think Costco or Walmart are that sensitive — though both are expert in exploiting B2B.
