Financial crisis: a new and promising resource

Economist Tyler Cowen just linked to what appears to be an excellent resource on the financial crisis.

A new blog to track the financial crisis. It provides a good overview of mainstream sources and general background. By the way, they point to this IMF paper on previous international crises.

I’ve begun examining the new blog’s references — looks useful. That IMF paper is especially good. The proprietor Matt Thompson is not an economist, but an online journalist/researcher. Whatever, good work.

Goal of this site: I’ve had a lot of difficulty finding sites that pulled together useful, authoritative, and comprehensive information about our current financial crisis in an accessible way. So I thought I’d take a stab at it myself. I hope anyone looking to get up to speed on this crisis can come to the home page and get what they need. Besides the link of the day, nothing on the front page will change too much from day to day, but I will try to keep it relevant, up-to-date and valuable for those looking for more knowledge on the crisis.
